The 'on the ground' situation in Gaza reflects an 'outside of time' battle in the heavenly realms.
The Gaza of 2023 was the fruit of Israel's growing belief in the '90's that 'land for peace' was a good idea, spurring Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in 2005 to withdraw all Jewish presence from the Strip, with no reciprocal concession despite the cost of recovering it in the '67 War. He stated that 'the end of Israeli control over and responsibility for the Gaza Strip allows the Palestinians, if they so wish, to develop their economy and build a peace-seeking society, which is developed, free, law-abiding, and transparent and which adheres to democratic principles'. (Britannica.com).
In 2007, the Palestinians voted in the Iranian proxy Hamas (= 'violence' in Hebrew), despite its final aim being to wipe Israel off the face of the earth even at the expense of its own citizens. It then usurped humanitarian aid to build 500km of tunnels and huge numbers of rockets to fire at Israel, whilst indoctrinating children to hate the Jews and oppressing and radicalising the Palestinian population to achieve its evil objective.
Behind all this is the manipulation of Hamas by the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, to express their hatred of Israel as the ones God chose to be "a light to the nations" (Isaiah 49:6, Ephesians 6:12). Channeling the same envy that provoked Cain to kill his brother Abel (Genesis 4:8), Esau to hate his brother Jacob who God renamed as Israel (Genesis 17:20 & 27:39-40), and Esau's grandson Amalek to promote the annihilation of Israel (Exodus 17:8-16).
All reflecting the envy that drove Lucifer to want to usurp God's throne (Isaiah 14: 13-14), and birthed a generational spirit which was acutely aggrieved about Israel having what Esau's descendants did not.
"The Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation." (Exodus 17:16)
This then became the driving force behind the Amalekites' opposition to Israel's first entry into the land (Exodus 17), and which continues to this day through the intense opposition to Israel's final return to the land that goes far beyond that of Hamas. As prophesied in the "conspiracy with one accord to wipe out the nation of Israel that its name be remembered no more" (Psalm 83:4), which specifically references Edom and the Ishmaelites, as well as Amalek and Philistia.
The global applause for atrocities that have echoed the Holocaust, and have even united Muslims with left-wing professors, exposes the depth of the ancient darkness that opposes Israel's on-going place in God's purposes. The particular focus of this in 2023 was Gaza, but it will only be finally terminated by the return of Israel's Messiah.
